Facebook Challenge for August by Dianna

Hi everyone, Dianna here with a new Project for Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Monthly Challenge.  The first of each month there is a new challenge. This month's challenge is a color challenge! You can submit a new project that has anything to do with Fairy Tails - any Character or Characters (i.e. fairies, mermaids, dragons, etc).

All you have to do is become a member of the Facebook Craft Group and submit your entry on the Facebook Craft Group page.  The winning entry will receive a $10.00 gift certificate to Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts.

I choose Graphic 45's Mother Goose Collection for Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts - Hidden Drawer Book Box Large.  I assembled the box and painted it cream. I then inked it brown, then used a bronze paint and dry rubbed it on the box for a burnished look.

I assembled the inside box and painted it a green that matches the green in the paper.

The mini album is something I made up to fit inside of the book box.  Cut the paper at 9-1/2 wide and score at 4-3/4 cut the length at 7-1/2 long and score at 7 inches and cut one side and corner the ends.  I used scrap chipboard and cut it down to 7 x 1-3/4 for a base to attach the spine.  I wanted something sturdy that could be used to take the mini album in and out.  The spine is 3-3/4 with a score on each side at 1/2 and 2-3/4 with a score at 1/2.

I painted Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts String Alongs - Moon & Stars white then used yellow chalk ink and Stickles for bling.

I painted the Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Star and Flourish Borders and Corners, light blue and used white Stickles for added bling.

I created flaps with extra pieces from another project.

I used Copic Markers to create pages on the ends of the book box.

I fussy cut sections of Graphic 45's Mother Goose front pages and used my Xyron Creative Station and Stamp Maker for a clean layering effect.

Finished!

Facebook Challenge for July by Dianna's Crafts Blog

Hi everyone, Dianna here with a new Project for Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Monthly Challenge.  The first of each month there is a new challenge.   This month's challenge is a color challenge, Red, White and Blue, anything to do with anything with Red, White and Blue.

All you have to do is become a member of the Facebook Craft Group and submit your entry on the Facebook Craft Group page.  The winning entry will receive a $10.00 gift certificate to Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts.

I bought this super cool paper at Hobby Lobby and decided to create a 4th of July mini album. This is a two blog post.  The reminder of the post and mini album will be posted later this month.

I start out with a 8-1/2 by 11 sheet of paper and score at 5-1/2 and 8.  Cut off the one side of the 8 inch score and corner the edges.  This is your basic page, from here you can leave the top open to create pull outs.  The score at the 8 inch is folded inward and glued.  The open side is what is glued to the spine.

The spine is cut from 6 long strips cut into 3-1/2, 2-1/2 and 1-1/2.  Then I score at 1/2 on each end of the strip and the ends are cornered.

The scores are folded up and the strips are glued and "stacked" on top of each other to create the spine.

I sprayed Radiant Rains on Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts - Stars & Flourishes Border and Corners Sets. I used Xyron -2.5 inch Create a Sticker on the frame.  To create the flip, I cut three
pages at 6-1/2 by 5 and scored 1/2.  I used score tape to adhere the pages and a punch for the edges.

I cut a strip of paper 2-1/2 by 6-1/2 and scored 1/2 on the 2 inch side and 1/4 on each end of the 6-1/2 inch sides to create the pocket.  I then used scrap paper and scored it in half - 3-1/2 by 5.  I used the Radiant Rains and had a little fun on the Stars creating a tie dyed kind of look.  I then fussy cut some scrap paper and fed it through the stars. I used my Xyron - 3 inch Sticker Maker to adhere the stars to the paper.

I used a new item from Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts - Medallions Stars (Coming Soon).  I used Radiant Rains on the star and inked the edges.  I placed a stone in the middle for some bling.  I then used some scrap paper to create some contrast. I used Xyron- 5 inch Create a Sticker to adhere the Star.

Please come back and see the finished project.

Facebook Challenge for June by Dianna's Crafts

Hi everyone, Dianna here with a new Project for Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Monthly Challenge.  The first of each month there is a new challenge.   This month's Challenge is an Bird Challenge, anything to do with Birds and/or Wings.

All you have to do is become a member of the Facebook Craft Group and submit your entry on the Facebook Craft Group page.  The winning entry will receive a $10.00 gift certificate to Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts.

I was inspired by a post on Pinterest.  I changed it up by using Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts and by going                 3-dimensional. I first painted a canvas with an apple green and then used a teal and darker green for contrast.  I then painted a tree with a large branch for the owls to sit.  I used Twinkling H20's on Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Owl Elements, Mini Flourishes Bella, Words and Phrases- Enjoy the Moment, Little Bird House and Little Bird Box.

I was heavy handed with the texture paste on the Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts - Fern Fronds and painted the ferns with greens and browns. I glued beads and micro beads in the shape of leaves and added the beads to the fern fronds.  I used pieces that dropped off some of the other Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts chipboard items (yes, I save everything) to create wings on the Owls.  The decorative scroll work on two of the Owls is drop-off from Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts - Dragonflies Fancy.  I used drop-off chipboard pieces to give dimension to the Owls by gluing the pieces to the Owls prior to gluing the Owls to the canvas.  I then inked all the pieces prior to placing everything on the canvas.

Facebook Challenge for May by Dianna's Crafts

Hi everyone, Dianna here with a new Tag for Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Monthly Challenge.  The first of each month there is a new challenge.   This month's Challenge is an Animal Challenge, anything to do with Animals.

All you have to do is become a member of the Facebook Craft Group and submit your entry.  The winning entry will receive a $10.00 gift certificate to Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts.

I chose Graphic 45's Raining Cats and Dogs to go with Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts new Dog Shape Set.  I am really excited about this project because this mini album is being donated to JCCARE - Japanese Chin Care and Rescue On-line auction.

The cover of this mini album is made from a large pizza roll box and the pages were created to fit inside.  The cover art is from Graphic 45's Raining Cats and Dogs and the corners are Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Victorian Corners colored black with a marker.

The pages are 8-1/2 x 11 and are scored at 10-1/2 and 5-1/4; paper is turn 180 degrees and then scored at 5-1/4.  Smaller tab is cut off and between the shallow squares then folded.

Both the Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Chipboard pieces are from the Parisian Shape Set and are colored black with a marker.  A punch was used on the paper to create the side waterfall.

I used Twinkling H20's on the Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Dog Shape Set (coming soon) and cut the Graphic 45's Raining Cats and Dogs was cut out and glued to the inside of the collar.

Twinkling H20's was used on the dog house and bone.  I cut out the little dog in the house and popped it up with a scrap chipboard piece.

I created small fold outs with scrap paper and put the Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts - Good Dog on top.  The frame was colored with chalk inks and only one side was glued down so that a picture could be inserted.

The fire hydrant  is from Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts dog shape set and I used a red Twinkling H20's for color.

Facebook Challenge for April by Dianna's Crafts

Hi Everyone, Dianna here with a new Tag for Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Craft Group Monthly Challenge.  The first of each month there is a new challenge.   This month's Challenge is an Inspirational Challenge, anything to do with Spring.

All you have to do is become a member of the Craft Group on Facebook and submit your entry.  The winning entry will receive a $10.00 gift certificate to Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts

I used the above pictures as my inspiration for my April Tag.  I painted the tag with white acrylic paint then punched a 3 inch scalloped circle and used it to daub clouds with three different colors of blue ink and a purple ink.  I then used the scalloped circle and texture paste to create the swirls.  I painted the grass with apple green paint and distressed the grass with green ink.

I painted the kite, little dancer, flower and spring with white acrylic paint.  I used Copic Markers to create the dress.  The trick is not to let the markers dry but keep going over it with different color to get the flowing dress.  I used chalk ink on the kite, flower and spring.

Steampunk Shadowbox by Dianna's Crafts

Hi Everyone, Dianna here with Gypsy Soul Laser Cut's Small Shadowbox and Graphic 45's World's Fair.  I decided to approach this project by using each square as its own ATC.

I painted the box by using a Deco Art Bronze Paint then used a wood Stain to create a faux wood look. The first box I fussy cut the stamp and little tickets from Graphic 45's World Fair.  I used a stamp punch to create a larger stamp.  Behind the fussy cut of the second box, are beads that match (I used Beacon's 3-n-1 to make them stick).  The Steampunk Frame from Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts was "painted" using bronze, gold, black and teal chalk inks.  The crow was painted white and colored with Copic Markers.

I really loved the Ferris Wheel, so everything was fussy cut and layered.  I used chalk ink on Gypsy Soul Laser Cut's Fleur De Lis from the Parisian Shape Set.

I used black and bronze chalk ink on a Gypsy Soul Laser Cut's -Wrought Iron corner piece and  Gear Shape Set. I layered the gears with scrap chipboard pieces and a clock charm.  I fussy cut one of my favorite prints from Graphic 45's World's Fair and used Gypsy Soul Laser Cut's Border Stick behind it.  The bronze and gold chalk ink was used on the Gypsy Soul Laser Cut's Word Charm - Journey.

The car and two tags were fussy cut out from Graphic 45's World's Fair and the car layered with Gear Shape Set.

The Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Square Charm (coming soon) and Fleur De Lis was painted with bronze, gold and black chalk inks.  The metal piece in the back ground was an extra and the metal bobbin was from a metal set that I had laying around.  The Graphic 45's World's Fair Lady was cut out of a larger design and placed in the Square Charm.

Tags in a Box Display and January Tag by Dianna's Crafts

Hi Everyone, Dianna here with Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Tags in a Box Display. The Box comes with six tags.  I decided to create a tag for each month and decided to to us Graphic 45's Time to Flourish on the January tag.

I started by painting the Tag Box a cream color.  I then sprayed it with a bronze spray to give it a more worn look.  I then papered the box first with Graphic 45's Botanical Tea - striped paper then I distressed paper from the same line.

I used Twinkling H20's on Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts - Hanging Clock and glued the clock on the back of the Tag Box.

I papered the Tag with Graphic 45's French Country Collection - Rendezvous.  I used white ink to lighten the red a little.  I used a bronze Twinkling H20's on Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts - Deco Lattice Panel 2.  I then used a white ink to give it a little winter effect.  I used a bronze Twinklings on the Leafy Corners vine and green on the leaves.  I then used the white ink to tone done the bronze of the vines.  I used red nail art stones on the leaves for winter berries.  I fussy cut Graphic 45's - Time to Flourish - January.  I then decided since it was cold and snowing here that I needed snow flakes.  I painted Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts - Snowflake Border white and used three different Stickles on the snowflakes.  I placed the snowflakes on the lattice to finish the tag.

Thank you for looking and check back to see next months tag.

Brush Caddy By Dianna's Crafts

Hi Everyone, Dianna here with Gypsy Soul Laser Cut's Brush Caddy.   This Brush Caddy is extremely useful.  The bottom picture shows all of the items that I put in the Brush Caddy with room to spare.  Also, this Brush Caddy fits into the top of the Art Caddy, which I will be assembling later.  Please check out the video of this assembly below.

I start with a dry assembly then spray painted the Brush Caddy with a bronze spray paint. I then assembled the Brush Caddy using Beacon's 3-n-1.  I used Beacon's Fast Finish Decoupage on tissue paper that I purchased at Marshalls.  The tissue paper will tear a little but the overall effect is a vintage steam trunk. The little tears add character and add to the vintage feel.

The Brush Caddy has six compartments.

Here are all the items that are in the final picture.  There is plenty room to spare.
