ColourArte Blog Challenge Red, Blue and Yellow

Hi Everyone, Dianna here with my submission for the ColourArte Monthly Challenge for the Red, Blue and Yellow.  

I used ColourArte's Silk's Acrylic Glazes, Cool Water, Iridescent Blue and Stargazer on the Gina's Designs XL-Chipboard Tag.  I used a 2-inch scalloped circle punch to create the clouds with makeup sponges and daubed the Silks on the chipboard.

I used Twinkling H20's Nutmeg for the branch of the Gina's Designs Canning Jar Branch (coming soon!!!) and Silks Pretty Peridot on the leaves.  I used Twinkling Mardarin Citrine for the lights. For the Butterflies and Dragonflies I used Silks Cool Water, Iridescent Blue and Twinklings Pearl Red.

This was a lot of fun and I hope you enjoy!

Circus Box Featuring ColourArte by Dianna's Crafts

 Hi everyone, Dianna here, with a exciting new project featuring Twinkling H20's by ColourArte!  I love to repurpose items and when I saw this old bankers box I knew I wanted to put a circus in it!

 Please see the video at the bottom of this post for step by step instructions.  

Here is a photo of some of the beautiful goodies I used on my project.

I started off with this chipboard Ferris Wheel from Gina's Designs, and used Washi tape to tape off the sections so that the Twinkling H20's did not bleed into each other.  The colors I used in the Twinkling H20's are Orange Peel, Lemongrass, African Jade and Ginger Peach. I used a sponge eye shadow makeup applicator to stir the water into the H20's and then applied it to the chipboard pieces. 

The tent was taped off as well, because I can not create a straight line on my own.  I used Twinkling H20's Ginger Peach, Lemongrass and African Jade for the banner. The H20's rainforest was used on the elephant then I went over it with the makeup applicator to create lines and dimension.  

The giraffe's spots were cut out of washi tape and was colored with more of the H20's in the Mandarin Citrine color. I then removed the spots  and colored them with the Nutmeg H20's.

I decided to leave the box in its original condition because I felt it was perfect for this project.  The bottom of the box looked like sand and the back of the lid was a perfect backdrop for the Ferris Wheel.

Next, I glued rice lights to the back of the Ferris wheel and then glued two plastic lids together for a stage (and to hide the battery pack). I covered the stage with some circus looking paper to finish it off.

Here is where I am at so far.

I glued the tent to the stage and hide the battery pack under it. 

Now its time for finishing touches! I glued the giraffe to the train car, and she is peeking over the top to see what's going on. I painted with more of the Twinkling H20's in Ginger peach, Lemongrass and African Jade on the train car, which gave it a fun shimmer and sparkle.

Here is the finished project!  I had so much fun creating this unique item. I love working with these products, they are very versatile and covered so well over the chipboard.

Gina's Designs - Circus Shape Set

Door Owl by Dianna

Hi Everyone,  Dianna here with a new Gina's Designs product, a Door Owl!

The owl is 14-1/2 by 11-1/2 not counting the branch, so she is on the large size.  She comes dark brown wood which I spray painted white.  Note:  do not let the guys who work with you stack the damp pieces of wood together (they were trying to be helpful :)  that is what caused the dark splotches).

I then painted the Emma the Owl, (yes I named her) with a teal glitter spray and papered the wings with a checked pattern paper from Joann's.  I used a coordinating a striped paper on the "B".  The B is for our last name.  Not liking the lack of depth from the glitter paint, I then added low lights and highlights with Stickles.  I also used a white paint pen to cover the dark marks from the earlier mentioned stacking of damp pieces.

Then I punched out 60 -  3/4 inch circle and 60 - 1 inch circles from 4 coordinating papers.  I did this while watching TV.   It does not seem that much from the photo but believe me when I say that it took a while.    

I glued the wings on first with Beacons 3 in 1 because I am hanging this on my door and want it to hold up to the slamming of the door that my 16 sons does when he leaves.  He simply does not understand how to close a door without slamming.  I distressed each circle with ink, then proceeded to glue all of the circles using the wings as a marker.  

And I glued.

Finally!  finished gluing those circles!.

I used burlap for the nose and branch and distressed the edges.  The eyes are 1-1/4 inch circle punch with a 3/4 inch circle punch out of brown.  The leaves are coordinating green paper.  Burlap twine was used to hang Emma the Owl.

Mad Hatter Birthday Hat by Dianna's Crafts

Hi Everyone and a Happy 3rd Birthday to Gina's Designs!  Gina helped make this idea a reality, thank you Gina! She cut this hat for me and was very supportive when I took over her craft room and decoupaged everything in sight. 

The paper is actually book pages from Alice in Wonderland that was liberally distressed with ink.  I did use color pencils on some of the pages.  I used Beacon's Fast Finish Decoupage and it was a pleasure to work with (warning it is like water so a little easier to work with and it does dry fast).  The above picture is a side shot but I wanted it to be the first picture.  I used a blown up picture of the mad hatter and placed one of Gina's Designs tea cups in front of the mad hatter.  I used Twinkling H20's on Gina's feathers and some of the left over rosette from the hat band.  I added the cards to celebrate Gina's Designs 3rd Birthday!

This picture is actually the front of the hat.  I used Gina's Designs String Alongs - Alice and applied Twinkling H20's.  The pocket watch was cut from a String Alongs and I included a metal watch face.  The white rabbit is a stamp from Deep Red colored with Copic Markers.  The blue band is a rosette die that was cut from blue paper.

The caterpillar was cut out from a Alice in Wonderland page and popped up on one of Gina's mushrooms. Twinkling H20's was used on the mushrooms to give them some depth.  This Alice is a stamp from Saturated Canary and colored with Copic Markers.  

There was a lot going on here with all of the colored pages so I used a hat from Gina's Alice String Alongs to brake it up a little.  

This is the top of the hat, I just had to include the Cheshire Cat :)

Artist Trading Cards by Dianna

Hi everyone, Dianna here with my first Artist Trading Cards. These are a cross-promo with Gina's Designs and Rubber Moon Stamps.   All of the Chipboard used are Stamping Blanks made by Gina's Designs especially for Rubber Moon Stamps.  I made them for my friend Kim who loves the Beatles and her furry family member Queen Blue the cat.  

The first Here Come the Sun made with Rubber Moon sun stamp.  I used white acrylic paint on the chipboard then stamped on the chipboard.  I then used Copic markers to color the Sun Sweet and Trust Your Heart.  I used scrap paper and created cloud shapes and put the paper under the window.  I then used Stickles on the sun and clouds. I then printed out the Here Comes the Sun and punched it out with a ticket punch. 

Black Bird Fly was made with the Sun Sweet and Spread The Love (Bird)Stamps. I cut the "rays" off the sun and then painted the chipboard white, then stamped on the sun and used Stickles on the sun.  I stamped the bird and cut the heart off..  I used scrap paper and distressed the edges.  I then printed out the Blackbird Fly.  

Queen Blue was made with a Rubber Moon Cat stamp, stamped with grey ink on white paper. I used scrap pink and white paper punched with a punch stamp to create a ruffle.  I painted a Gina's Designs chipboard Flourish Amanda black and a Queen Bees crown white and used silver Stickles to "bling" it up.  I also used silver Stickles around the edges of the ATC for more "bling"
