Santa's Balloon Ride by Dianna

Hi everyone, Dianna here hoping that your holidays were wonderful!  Here is my take on
Santa's Christmas Delivery from a Balloon with a Steampunk Twist.

I took a 12 x 12 canvas and painted the sides and border a light brown.  I used Mod Podge to seal the paint and adhere the Bo-Bunny -Silver and Gold - Festivities paper.  The Compass is from Gina's Designs and painted gold (it kinda looks like it is printed on the paper so I raised it for dimension).

I used Twinkling H20's Crystal Green on the Gina's Design raw chipboard and got an irridence effect on the trees.  I stamped a Jingle Bells music stamp on the trees and finished the edges with Stickles - Pantina. I placed chipboard under the trees at different thicknesses to create a 3D look.  I hand drew Santa, colored him with Copic Markers and used a snow writer on his coat and hat. The chipboard basket was Sparkling H20's and Bo-Bunny paper.  The list was an old stamp on tan paper and distressed with brown ink

Gina's Designs Mini Display Tray -Hot Air Balloon tops the canvas on a cardboard "hinge".  I used the Twinkling H20's on the outside of the balloon.  BO-Bunny - Silver and Gold paper line was used on the whole balloon.  I used Tim Holtz Rosette die by Sizzix under Gina's Clock face and hands and a super small one was used as a gear.  A fence from Gina's Beach Shape Set was cut down to make a ladder for the elf.  Gina's gears were painted with silver, gold and bronze.  The peppermint was painted white, red and distressed with brown ink to give it a gear look.  I used a Gina's Design Type Writer Key "25" as gear. The snowflake was daubed with Stickles - Icicle, Gold and Pantina. The BO-Bunny - Elf Magic paper elves were fussy cut out and the magic ticket was punched out using an EK Success Punch.  Gina's flourishes miniatures were painted black and gold.  The dream in a circle is new for Gina's Design.

Snow Fairy and Mitten Cards by Dianna

Hi everyone Dianna here with two snowflake cards.

The Snow Fairy card is my take from a card I saw on Pinterest.

The Fairy is from Gina's Designs Garden Fairies. When I saw this particlar fairy I thought she looked like a ice fairy. I used Sparkling H2O's on the Fairy and snowflakes. I painted one of Gina's trees with white acrylic, then used Copic Markers and white pearl chalk ink to give it a wintery affect. I punched with a Fisker 1/2 inch and 1 inch punches on clear vellium and a white metallic paper. I then distressed all of the circles with a silver chalk ink. I distressed the teal paper with light brown ink and cut the branches off the tree. I laid out the branches and circles to look like snow globes. Then placed the snowflakes around the card like the fairy was creating them. To finish off the card I used rhinestones on the snowflakes and through out the card.
I picked up an small envelope maker from Taylored Expressions and decided that it would be a great on the front of a card. I decided to use some of the pink paper from Crate Paper - Bundled Up.
I papered mittens from Gina's Designs Winter Shape Set. I layered Stickles on the plain chipboard snowflakes to create the vintage look on the snowflakes. I then printed out the "in the meadow" saying from the computer but a giftcard would be great in that slot as well. Rhinestones and a teal bow complete the look.

Two Christmas Cards by Dianna

Hi Everyone Dianna here with two Christmas Cards.
The first card is Santa with a tree, wreath and word Believe from Gina's Designs. The background paper is "Beauty" from Authentique which is not actually "christmas paper" but a victorian look to it so it works well with card. The christmas tree chipboard is covered with music paper that had been distressed with brown ink. I used Stickles on the edges and to create the internal branches. I used Sparkling H2O's on the Believe and Wreath.
I used copic on Santa, the bear and rocking horse.
Santa's fur is a Snow Writer with Stickles daubed on it. A white fur ball was used to finish off Santa's hat.

The Second card's background is layed with scrap paper. The bottom layer of vintage is a Christmas word stamp on tea stained paper. The Jingle Bellsis a stamp and was stamped on a torn piece of scrap card stock. The Gina's Design Music Note was painted gold and then daubed with brown and gold Stickles. The Robin Stamp was colored with copic an the snow is from a snow writer.

Winter Snowman Banner by Dianna

Hi Everyone, Dianna here with Gina's Designs new Winter Snowman Banner.

The kit comes with six chipboard snowmen, twelve mittens, six scarfs, six hats and the letters to spell out Winter. I cut traced and fussy cut the six snowmen out of white cardstock and glued the cardstock on the chipboard. I used copic markers-BG0000 and N0 to outline the snowmen and create arms. Then I used three Darice embossing folders (two of them have snowflakes the other is a swirl pattern) and embossed two of the snowmen to one of the embossing folders, alternating the patterns. I embossed black card stock with same swirl embossing folder from Darice. I daubed Stickles - Icicles on each of the snowmen.

The Twinkling H2O's were used on the scarfs to give them an iridescent look. I traced and fussy cut the mittens alternating kraft and teal snowflake paper. The Winter was traced and fussy cut out of a white paper with glitter lightbulbs. The snowmens eyes are little self-sticking 1/2 round beads and the mouths are the tiniest buttons I have ever seen. The carrot noses were hand-cut out of orange paper and a copic marker - E04 was used to distress the nose. The teal ribbon was from my stash and the holly berry sprig is from Hobby Lobby.

Copic Markers, 100-black, N4-Neutral Gray, N6-Neutral Gray, N4-Neutral Gray was used on the cauldron. I started with the dark color first and then laided on the lighter grays to create the rounded look on the cauldron. Copic Markers was used on the feet of the cauldron to create the monster feet and the hat band, YG23-New Leaf, YG13- Chartreuse, YG63-Pea Green. Black Copic was used on the witches boots and V09-Violet and YG13-Chartreuse was used on the witches tights. The Spiderweb was painted with black gesso. Happy Harvest ScareCrow

Hi everyone Dianna here with the Happy Harvest Scarecrow.  I decided to put Gina's Design Scarecrow on canvas.

The paper used on the Scarecrow is from Hobby Lobby.  I papered the body in a bronze paper and spritzed with Tattered Angels - Glimmer Mist - Gold.  Burlap paper on the pants, distressed the pants in brown and used scraps for a patch.  The vest was had been hand cut of yellow paper.  The vest and hat was embossed with a Tim Holtz embossing folder.  A light bronze paper was used for the jacket and embossed with a Darice embossing Folder and distressed with black ink.  The burlap paper was used for the face and distressed with black ink.  Googly eyes, a mouth drawn with a Sharpe, spritzing Tattered Angels - Glittered Angels - Gold, crinkle paper from the Dollar Store and acorn buttons found at Tuesday Morning finish the Scarecrow.

The canvas was dry brushed with Adirondacks inks.  I daubed the inks starting with the light colors in the center and darker inks toward the edges.  I distressed the edges with the darker colors.  (Remember that the Adirondacks ink take a long long time to dry).  The flowers were cut with Sizzix Tim Holtz - Jumbo Tattered Flowers,  paper used was three shades of Orange and distressed after cutting with brown ink.  After cutting the flower shapes, the back of the paper was spritzed with water and shaped with a McGill 8mm, 6mm, 3mm and 2mm tools. The Happy Harvest from Gina's Designs was spritzed with Maya Mist - Lemon Metallic (which came out a little tie-dyed and orange) on raw chipboard.

Leaves -  there are a lot.  Roughly fifty die-cut and embossed leaves from loose card stock purchased from a local Stamp Store, the Stamp Pad were used to make the waterfall of leaves.   Leaves that were not embossed were spritzed with water and a McGill 6mm and 2 mm was used to create the curve and lines.  The die used was from Momenta - Leaves Mix and Match Dies.  The paper colors used were olive green,  two shades of burgundy and two shades of orange.  All leaves were distressed with brown ink and spritzed (a lot) with Tattered Angels- Glimmer Mist - Gold.

Two Halloween Cards

Hi everyone, Dianna here with two Halloween Cards.

Gina's Designs and Kitty's Scrap Post was used on both cards.

On the first card, I fussy cut this adorable little witch on the large pumpkin from Kitty's Scrap Post, O' Halloween and placed her on top of two graduating squares of orange paper that has been distressed with brown ink and spritzed with Tattered Angels - Glimmer Mist - Gold.  I cheated and bought the plain white card stock with envelopes at Hobby Lobby.  The white card  is then covered with orange polka dot paper.  The spider web paper was fall off from another project and the two ribbons are from Kitty' Scrap Post, O' Halloween.  I found some orange buttons and tied black and white bakers twine into bows and placed them on the spiderweb paper that had been spritzed heavily with Tattered Angels Gold.  The two bats are from Gina's Designs Spooky Shape Set and are "painted" with black glittery nail polish (this really really works great with the chipboard).

The second card I covered with a scrap of orange and distressed with black ink.  The post card of the little girl is from Kitty's Scrap Post, O' Halloween placed on scrap polka dot and dark orange paper which was distressed with black ink.  The post card was a little off size so I staggered the layers.  That was spritzed with Tattered Angels - Glimmer Mist - Gold.  The burlap was a scrap from another project and distressed in black ink.  What looks like four pieces of paper is actually just one piece of paper that was cut out from DCWV- Bewitched Stack. The Boo, Bat and Scary Cat are from Gina's Designs Spooky Shape Set and "painted" with black glittery nail polish. The eyes (which did not photograph very well have gold paper behind the eyes to create a kind of spooky glow).

Steampunk Scarecrow Girl by Dianna

Hi everyone, Dianna here with a my take on Gina's Designs Chipboard Scrarecrow.

I decided to really change it up and make it a girl.

I trimmed the waist and curved the chest of the main form and the jacket.

I stayed traditional with the face and pants by using burlap paper. Burlap is so much easier to use as a paper and still allows for the nice fraying on the edges. The hair was made up of burlap ribbon and some springy ribbon from Paper Studio. The eyes are two gears from Gina's Designs with brads as centers of the eyes and nose. I distressed the edges of the face with Tim Holtz, Distressed Ink. The main body was covered with a metallic gold paper and inked with bronze chalk ink.

The ruffle was made by punching with a ruffle 1-1/2 inch on metallic bronze paper. The circles were squirted with water folded in half and folded fan like then dried. Once dried, the half circles were inked and glued on the main body of the scarecrow. Found some really cool paper at Hobby Lobby and used that for the jacket and skirt. The jacket was inked with bronze, silver and gold chalk ink and then glued to the main body. The gears, crow and keys from Gina's Designs were painted with white gesso, then painted with bronze and gold paint and finished with inking with brown. Copic markers N8, N6, N4 and W4 were used on the crow to get the feather effect. I liked how the bronze showed through the grays that I did not add gears to the crow. Scrap braiding was used for the edges of the jacket and the keys were used to close it.

The skirt was punched with a scalloped punch, squirted with water and fan folded while damp. After drying, the skirt was glued on to the inked pants. Gears were glued on the pants as patches and the ruffles at the ends of the pants and jacket were left over scalloped circle punches from the ruffle shirt.

The body was then glued to a Gina's Designs large tag that had been covered with burlap paper and inked with bronze, brown and gold chalk ink. The large black gear is from Gina's Designs and the burlap flower was made fom a Tim Holtz Sizzix die. Each section of the flower was inked with Tim Holtz Distressed Paint in bronze, silver and gold. The face of the scarecrow was glued last and everything was spritzed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist-Gold.  Ribbons from The Paper Studio were used as tassels.

The bussle was left over fall off from the cutting the shape of the skirt, to get an even blending of the skirt I used some scrap ribbon.  The witches hat was an old die cut. The moon is from Kitty's Scrap Post OHalloween glued on a circle from Gina's Designs Spooky Shape Set to give it dimension and inked with Tim Holtz's Distressed Ink Black Soot and spritzed with Tattered Angels Gimmer Mist Gold.  The moon was glued on Gina's Designs Cardstock Doily Set Steampunk.

The Standing Sign was cut from Kitty's Scrap Post OHalloween and inked with Tim Holtz's Distressed Ink Black Soot.  The sign post was spritzed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Pearl.  The Gina's Designs number 31 was glittered with Stickles - Star Dust. The large paper spider web was made with Kitty's Scrap Post OHalloween and cut from QuicKutz WEB die and spritzed with Tattered Angel Glimmer Mist Pearl.

The top box picture was cut out from Kitty's Scrap Post OHalloween and the bottom of the picture was cut out to give dimension.  The lady's dress was dotted with Stickles-Platinum and the pumpkin man was outlined with Glossy Accents.  Behind the top box I used three of the Cardstock Doily Set Intricates from Gina's Designs and spritzed two of them with Maya Mist in Lemon Metallic (which is actually an orange color) and one inked with Tim Hotz Distressed Ink - Black Soot. Tags - Tea and Chandelier by Dianna

Hi Everyone, I'm lovin the tags and everyone that I give them to loves them as well. The Tea Tag went to my sister-in-law and the Chandelier was a Birthday Tag to my new niece (she just married my nephew).

Chandelier

Gina's Designs Chandelier was used as the center piece for this Tag. I used gesso on the chip board first, then stamped with ColorBox - Swimming Pool (Teal) then used Copic E37 - Sepia on the sides and added some low lights. Then to get an old effect on the chandelier I used Stickles - Icicle and dobbed it on with a sponge dobber ( it gave it an non-uniformed look). Then gemstones were placed at the bottoms of the candles. The Julie Nutting Prima Stamp, Mia was stamped on Readers Digest page and colored with Copic E00 - Skin White, Hair - Y21-Buttercup Yellow, E15-Dark Suntan, YR24-Pale Sepia, YR27-Tuscan Orange, Dress BG72-Ice Ocean.

Cards - Mermaid and Thank You

Hi everyone,  I made two cards one for my niece and the other as a thank you.

My niece's 2 year old birthday and she LOVES mermaids.

The mermaid is a stamp from Penny Black purchased at Hobby Lobby (on clearance). The
waves were made leaving using the paper by Bo-Bunny's Enchanted Garden hand-cut into waves (it was actually more fun that it sounds) and glued together. I used Copic Sketch Y21, E29, YR27 and E09 on the mermaid's hair; Copic BG13, BG72 and BG49 on the tail;  Copic V04 and BV11 on her top and star fish; E00 on the skin.  Fishes Y15, YG13 and YR16 - Seahorse BG72 and V06 - Turtle YG63 and YG23.  Glitter Glue used - Recollections - Fairy Dust (purple), Pesto (green), Sunflower (yellow) - Studio G - (teal)

Seashells and StarFish are from Gina's Designs.  I used gesso on them first then I stamped with Tim Holtz's Distress Ink - Stormy Sky and Peeled Paint. Then sprayed with Sheer Shimmr Spritz by Imagine Crafts.  I cut the frame out by winging it, (actually I measured) the paper is from Hobby Lobby.  The 2 on the starfish is from Michaels. My Cricut (the first one made) bit the big one last weekend, very sad, which left me unable to make numbers.

Had to show the shell fish and this little guy!
